ROBERT CONTI
A graduate of the Architecture course at the University of Melbourne, Robert travelled to London to work on international projects in Tunisia, Portugal and the prestigious Gulf Corporation Headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
He commenced practice in Melbourne in 1987 and is the Design Director for the projects and is involved from early sketch designs to the contract administration of all projects. An acute understanding of construction and a sensitivity to contextual insertion as well as an analysis of the mechanics of the functionality of the brief underlies each project.
Robert has also been a jury member at state level in the Master Builders Association Victorian Excellence in Construction Awards – Commercial – since 2001 as well as a jury member in the Master Builders Association National Excellence in Construction Awards – Commercial – since 2013.
DOLORES O’GRADY
Obtaining her architecture degree at Trinity College in Dublin Ireland, she travelled to Australia after a short stint working for a prominent English architectural firm. Roles followed at two prominent Australian firms, rising to a position of Associate at both firms whilst working on a diverse range of projects such as Werribee Safari Zoo, where she won a National Architecture Women In Construction (NAWIC) Award for Architecture from the City of Melbourne, Melbourne Zoo, Melbourne Airport Satellite development, Myer Redevelopment in Brisbane as well as the Olympic Railway Station at Homebush, Sydney. She also saw the design and construction of the Hard Rock Café in Manilla. As Design Manager, she also worked on refurbishment of Collins Street office multi-unit apartment developments and a series of hospitality venues in the Docklands precinct. Since joining Conti Architects, Dolores has led the Interior Architecture program on all our projects covering residential, apartments, hospitality and commercial, She also is involved in academia, working as a Design Tutor at Swinburne University and lecturing in 20th Century Design.
